Inclusive Democracy in Action

Arc staff and consumers traveled to Albany this past May to speak with Senators and Assemblypersons about the importance of OMRDD funding and possible budget cuts. The Albany sessions, organized by NYSARC, allow consumers served by Arc to present compelling illustrations of what their programs mean to them and how important it is to preserve funding. Four consumers and four staff boarded a bus at Arc’s administrative offices and made the trip to Albany. Program participants met with many dignitaries including Senator DeFrancisco, Assemblywoman Christensen, and Assemblyman Magnarelli.
